SouthBayHomePrice.com is a home valuation site for Los Angeles’s beach cities (Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach). Given the site’s hyper-local reach, the decision was made to augment SouthBayHomePrice.com’s existing online advertising with more traditional print ads and door knockers.
I was asked to design a marketing campaign that would immediately catch the eye; something distinctive to inject a sense of fun into the admittedly not-terribly-thrilling nature of home valuations. Since SouthBayHomePrice.com pitches itself as a more accurate and more “human” alternative to Zillow.com and their controversial, computer-generated “Zestimates,” my campaign featured SouthBayHomePrice.com as a lone superhero fighting against the fearsome, gigantic Godzillow.
The pieces I created were designed to be fun, while still driving home SouthBayHomePrice.com’s message. Godzillow door knockers canvased the South Bay area, print ads appeared in South Bay DIGS and The Beach Reporter, and digital versions of the Godzillow pieces were used in Facebook advertising and social media posts.
